I challenge anyone to find anything more British than the deliberately crap joke by a presenter with deliberate non-engagement by an engineer displayed here. Bravo! I've never yet used Mighton products but now consider myself a loyal customer. And frankly these balances look fantastic.

So....where do we buy this? The website that sent me here has a million products listed and I have no idea which one is this item.

How long do the pins that hold the staff beads in need to be? If they are too long I can imagine it will be difficult to bend the (first) staff bead enough to remove it.

have not do theses for years but when i did i just used to pull the cord till weight hits pulley stand on sash cord and pin sash cord to side of sash about 150mm below weight with 40mm lost head nail , cut to length fit sash pull out nail . its not rocket science

Don’t need to remove all the staff/stop beads to remove a sash, just one of the vertical beads.

part 3. very unsafe to use this technique against a closed window. when hitting wood with hammer the window should be open to avoid vibration breaking the CROWN GLASS!! same for both top and bottom sash

All this was obvious but what I cant figure out is how to remove the top sash which is missed out completely!

You forgot to show how to remove the parting bead.

Just looking for info on removing the parting bead to get at the top window and can't believe the music I heard at the start. Long live the Amiga! :)

This was very informative. it might seem 'boring' to some,but recently the springs in NEW window broke,SLAMMED DOWN with such force, that it could not be lifted by the average woman (me). The guy that installed told me"measure the window", did NOT tell me WHICH PART. This VDO tells what a 'sash' is. MY particular needs, it is the BOTTOM SASH that came crashing down when the springs broke. *I wish it was like my OLD PULLEY/ROPE counterweighted wooden windows. This new alum. & crummy stuff sucks.

Nice job! . . .just 1 question> At 01:34, why put weather strips in the staff bead? I thought that the stips in the sashes and the parting-bead should form the seal.
